Development of cardiorespiratory fitness standards for working memory using receiver operating curves in 15-year-old adolescents

Abstract Background Working memory performance is associated with better academic achievements in children and adolescents, it positively related to CRF. However, what level of cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) discriminates higher working not known. The purpose this study was identify CRF thresholds linked adolescents. Methods Data 141 adolescents (53.2 % girls) were collected (14.9 years) from a cross-sectional during the year 2019. assessed by 20-m shuttle run test, maximal oxygen uptake calculated using Mahar´s equation. evaluated Corsi blocks test classified percentiles. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis used thresholds. Results ROC indicated that could be discriminate ≥45.03 ml.kg − 1 .min for boys ≥36.63 girls found indicative “normal” performance.
